Women's Basketball Hopes to Snap Four Game Skid Saturday

STEUBENVILLE, OH - The Lady Barons are coming into this game in desperate need of a win, as they have lost four straight. Pitt.-Bradford has not won a game since December, when they won two straight by beating the Lady Barons and Mounties of Mount Aloysius.

All-Time Series Against Pitt.-Bradford
  • Franciscan is 3-20 all-time against Pitt.-Bradford, including a loss earlier in the season.
  • The Panthers won 63-47 as they scored 36 point in the paint, and the Lady Barons turned it over 25 times. Jenna Hicks and Shirleah Ragin scored 14 points each to lead the Panthers to victory. Kelsey Scott-Avery scored 14 points to lead all Lady Barons, as she made four three pointers. Estelle Leon and Angela Starre didn't play in the last meeting.
  • The Panthers have won the last 10 meetings with the Lady Barons, as Franciscan's last win came on 12/7/14. Lacey Huck, Franciscan's all-time leading scorer, led the way with 16 points and six rebounds.
Scouting Franciscan
  • Kaitlyn Sonneberger has led the way for the Lady Barons offensively as of late. In their last two games she has led the Lady Barons in scoring as she scored 20 points in the loss to Pitt.-Greensburg and 14 against Hilbert.
  • Freshman Estelle Leon has made a huge impact in her first year. She has led the Lady Barons in rebounding in 11 games this season, while also leading the AMCC with 10.6 rpg.
  • The Lady Barons have struggled to score as of late. They are averaging 45 ppg in their four game skid, while their opponents have scored 59.3 over that stretch.
Scouting Pitt.-Bradford
  • The Panthers have numerous options of players that can take charge of a game offensively. Shirleah Ragin leads the way with 10.9 ppg, while Jasmin Miller 10.0 ppg, Shaelyn Snipes 9.6 ppg and La'Shyra Williams are all threats to score at anytime.
  • The Panthers are known for attacking the offensive glass. They are 2nd in the AMCC by pulling down 17.2 offensive rebounds per game.
  • The Panthers have struggled defensively this season so far, as they allow an AMCC worst 73.2 PPG. They are also tied with the Lady Barons as they turn it over an AMCC worst 21.1 times a night.
