ORLANDO, FL -Â Saint Mary's College (IN) got the better of the Lady Barons in their morning match by a score of 6-3.
Ana Victoria Haddad was on her game early, as she won her #2 singles match in straight sets. She followed that up by winning #2 doubles with her partner
Caroline Picard.
Haley Davinsizer was the only other Lady Baron to register a win. She won her #6 singles match in a third set tie breaker. Picard lost her #5 singles match in the tie break, and there were a couple other close matches as well, but the Lady Barons fell to the 5-1 Belles.Â
In the night cap, The Lady Barons took on Baldwin Wallace. They were able to avenge their loss earlier in the season, by beating the Yellow Jackets by the same score of 5-4. After sweeping all three doubles matches, the match almost slipped out of their hands, as the Yellow Jackets won #1, #2, #3 and #4 singles. Thankfully
Caroline Picard and
Haley Davinsizer came through with wins in #5 and #6 singles to secure the win 5-4.
The Lady Barons wrap up spring break on Friday, as they square off against Transylvania University at 4pm. The Pioneers are 14-6 on the season so far, and also won their conference in the fall of 2019. It will be a great test for both teams that are preparing for the NCAA Tournament this spring.Â
