How It Happened
    Franciscan hosted Penn State Altoona and Alderson Broaddus University for their first home meet of the season. Franciscan beat both Penn State Altoona and Alderson Broaddus in the double dual meet format. Jessica Stiles, Anne Konstanty, Katie McKenzie, and Kaylee Mosher started the meet off with a first place finish in the 200yd medley relay. Colleen Farabaugh took first in her first event of the day with the 1650 yd freestyle, and beating the second place finisher by over two minutes. Bridget Bartosik took second in the 200yd freestyle just missing the first place finish by one second. Jessica Stiles took second in the 100yd backstroke. Kristen Farabaugh took first in the 100yd breaststroke. The Lady Barons took first and second in the 200yd butterfly by Katie McKenzie and Sarah Clare Kelty respectively. Freshmen Kaylee Mosher took second in the 50yd freestyle. In the 200yd breaststroke, Olivia Mete took first and Kristen Farabaugh took second. Celia Van Den Wymelenberg posted a time of 5:54.15 in the 500yd freestyle, good enough for second place and just two seconds behind the first place finisher. After recovering from the long event earlier in the day, Colleen Farabaugh got back to winning events by taking first place in the 100yd Butterfly. In the 200yd IM, Olivia Mete took second place posting a time 1.5 seconds shy of first place. 

Up Next

Franciscan will take their longest road trip of the season next weekend, as they head up to Alfred State. They will face the host Pioneers and the Express from Wells College on November 6th at 1 pm. This will be the Lady Barons first matchup against Wells in their history. Franciscan has played Alfred State on five previous occasions with the Pioneers winning the last four. Franciscan will be searching their first win against Alfred State sine 2013. In that win, Franciscan won big, by a score of 154-22.
