How It Happened
Franciscan battled hard on the road against Wooster, as they had a five point lead at the half. The Fighting Scots had a huge second half to pull out with a nine point win.

Madison Doan would get the action going for Franciscan with back to back baskets to give them a 4-0 lead. Sophie LaRose made her first three pointer of the day to level the score at 7-7, as Wooster went on a run of their own. Ilena Gonzales, Jazzlyn Melnyk and Felicia MacGillivray would all add Franciscan buckets to give them a 14-13 lead.

The Fighting Scots would go on a 6-0 run over the first six minutes of the second quarter to give them a five point lead. Franciscan would respond with their own 7-0 run including a Jazzlyn Melnyk and one, layup. The Lady Barons would take a 26-21 lead into the break.

The third quarter would be the highest scoring quarter of the game, as both teams exchanged made field goals. Wooster would be able to tie it up at 36-36 with just under four minutes to play in the third quarter. A 6-0 Franciscan run that included a pair of Ilena Gonzales baskets would give Franciscan a four point lead at 42-38. Wooster would battle it back to a tie game at 45-45 heading into the fourth.

Natalie Conner and Jazzlyn Melnyk each had early fourth quarter points to hold the score even at 49-49. Wooster would connect on a pair of buckets to take a five point lead and they would not look back. The Lady Barons would be in a five point game with a little over a minute to play, but they would not be able to connect on a couple possessions in a row. That would force the Lady Barons to foul and the Fighting Scots were able to put them away with a couple of made free throws.
