How It Happened
Franciscan's first notable performance was from Celia Van Den Wymelenberg in the 1000 yd freestyle. She posted a time of 12:12.51, which was good enough for second place. Bridget Bartosik took second in the 200 yd freestyle. Colleen Farabaugh was the first Lady Baron to get a first place finish on the day. She won her 200 yd butterfly event with a time of 2:32.85. The 100 yd freestyle event was dominated by Franciscan. They took first and second place in this event. 1st place finish went to Colleen Farabaugh with a time of 59.56, and right behind her was Bridget Bartosik with a time of 59.87. Olivia Mete was the second Lady Baron of the day to claim a first place finish. She took first in the 200 yd breaststroke with a time of 2:43.54. The freshmen Kristen Farabaugh took second in the 500yd freestyle with a time of 6:06.69. Jessica Stiles took second in the 100 yd butterfly with a time of 1:10.36.

Up Next

Franciscan will return home to take on Grove City at 1pm on November 20th. The Wolverines were picked as the favorites to win the PAC in this year's coaches' preseason poll. Grove City has a large roster, as they have 30 swimmers on the roster. The Wolverines will be splitting up on the 20th with half of the team coming to Steubenville and the other half traveling north to take on Rochester. This will be the first time the Wolverines have swam at Big Red Natatorium. Franciscan will be looking to improve from their 128-95 loss to Grove City last season in their conference match at Grove City.
