How It Happened
Franciscan celebrated their seniors today with their last scheduled home meet of the year. Colleen Farabaugh was the first Lady Baron to get a 1st place finish, in her trademark race the 1000yd freestyle. She posted a time of 11:58.42. Celia Van Den Wymelenberg finished second in the 200 yd freestyle. Olivia Mete got another 1st place finish in her 100 yd breaststroke event. She posted a time of 1:15.89, just beating her Grove City opponent by one second. Van Den Wymelenberg got first place in her 200yd breaststroke with a time of 2:48.10. Colleen Farabaugh won another event, the 200yd IM's, with a time of 2:24.70. Colleen's first split was just behind Grove City's Kuchma, but in the second and third splits she gained a significant enough lead, that even though she was a second slower than Kuchma in the last split, she still beat her by over a second.

Up Next
This concludes the 2021 part of the 2021-22 women's swimming and diving schedule. They will get back into the pool for competition on January 15th at Washington & Jefferson. There they will square off with the host Presidents and the Terriers of Hiram. They Lady Barons were able to beat the Presidents last regular season by a score of 129-108 in Washington, Pa. Franciscan also beat Hiram in their last matchup in the 2019-20 season. That Lady Barons will look to keep up their recent successes against both teams in January.
