Youngstown, Ohio - The Franciscan University Women's Tennis team fell to Case Western on Friday afternoon by a score of 6-0. The match took place at Avalon Athletic Club at Boardman Courts in their indoor tennis facility, as inclement weather made Belleview Courts unplayable today. The Case Western Spartans came into the match ranked #3 in the NCAA Division III Central Region, with their senior leader Madeline Paolucci ranked the #1 singles player in the whole region. The Spartans played the Tartans of Carnegie Mellon at 11:45 and falling 6-1. Â
Doubles
The Barons dropped all three doubles match ups. The team ofÂ

Ana Victoria Haddad fell 8-3 in the #1 doubles match. In the #2 doubles match,
Zoey Stapleton and
Haley Davinsizer fell by a score of 8-2.
Caroline Picard and
Alyce Davis rounded out doubles play, falling by a score of 8-2.Â
Singles
Only three singles matches were completed with
Zoey Stapleton,
Haley Davinsizer and
Susan Schuberg each falling in their singles matches.Â
Who's Next?Â
The Lady Barons await their first round matchup in the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship. The bracket should be released in the morning of this coming Monday May 10th. This will be the Lady Barons fifth trip to the NCAA Tournament, and they are looking for their first win in Tournament play.Â
