How It Happened
Franciscan Women's Swimming & Diving moved to 3-0 on the year with wins over Bethany and West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in their home opener.

The Barons would continue to have success in relays today. Jessica Stiles, Janie Whatley, Faith Sirilla, and Madeline Dietrich won the opening 200 medley relay with a time of 2:10.29. Sydney McGee, Amelia Doyle, Rachel Pergi, and Anne Konstanty won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:59.70.

Stiles, Whatley, and Dietrich would also pick up a pair of individual wins to each have three wins on the day. Stiles won the 500 yard freestyle in commanding fashion as well as the 200 butterfly. Whatley continued her strong collegiate start with wins in the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke. Dietrich took home wins in 200 yard freestyle and a come from behind win in the 200 backstroke.

Up Next
Franciscan will take their longest road trip of the season next Saturday, as they travel to Juniata College. There they will take on Juniata and Moravian University. This will be their first time traveling to Juniata, but they have swam against the Eagles in the past. In 2011, they battled them at Chatham in a tri-meet where the Eagles would come out on top. This will be the first time that the Barons have swam against Moravian.
