The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced their Women's Basketball Weekly Awards on Monday, and Franciscan freshman
Mikayla Doan (San Diego, Calif. / St. Joseph Academy) earned Newcomer of the Week honors for her performances last week.
Doan had a very impressive first week of her collegiate career while helping the Barons go 2-1. She averaged 16.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg while shooting 73.3% from the floor. She scored 14 points and collected six rebounds at La Roche. Her best game came against Illinois Institute of Technology when she scored 25 points and pulled in nine rebounds and then she scored 10 points and gathered seven rebounds against Wooster in the title game win. Doan was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Nan Nichols Classic following their pair of wins at Wooster.
This is the first PAC Weekly honor of her career. Doan and the Barons return to action this Wednesday at Bethany for their first conference game of the season. They will tip at 5:30 p.m. with the men's game to follow
