How It Happened
Franciscan lost a defensive battle 1-2 in game 1 of the conference doubleheader vs the Washington & Jefferson Presidents. The Presidents took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning off of a couple errors from the Baron infielders. After that half both teams held each other scoreless until the bottom of the 6th. With two outs, Arnone crushed a solo homer out of center field to bring the Barons to within one run. Maxwell followed her up with a double to right field. This was a perfect scenario for the Barons, significant momentum, the tying run on second base, and none other than Kimberly McDaniels stepping up to the plate. McDaniels had a quality at bat being patient and seeing two balls. She finally saw a fast ball, but the pitch was low in the zone. She got her bat on the ball, but her grounder to SS led to the runner on second being tagged to close the inning out. The 7th was scoreless for both teams and the game finished 1-2.

At the Plate
-Arnone was 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI off her solo home run
-Maxwell was 1 for 3 with a double
-Clow was 1 for 3

How It Happened
In game 2 the Barons got off to a rough start. Just like game 1 they let 2 runs go in the top of the 1st inning. The 2nd and 3rd saw one more run each inning, and then 7 runs in the 4th off 3 Baron errors. Ariana hit another home run in the 3rd, but by the middle of the 4th the score was 11-1. In the bottom of the 4th, McDaniels hit a double, Clow singled, then Cedillo reached first on an error to load the bases with 0 outs. Stephenson rifled one deep into left center field. She was held up at first, but both McDaniels and Clow made it home for a 2 RBI shot from Stephenson. In the bottom of the 5th, the Baron bats got hot again. Arnone, McDaniels, Clow, and Stephenson each hit singles while Arnone hit a double, and Doan reached base. This led to a flurry of runs that brought the game to within 5 runs (7-12). This prevented the run rule from ending the game in the 5th and gave ourselves another inning to crack down on the lead. However, in the 6th, the Presidents scored three more runs and held the Barons scoreless in the bottom of the inning to end the game 7-15.

At the Plate
-Arnone was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 runs, and an RBI. She was 5 for 7 on the day with 2 home runs, 3 runs, and 2 RBI's
-McDaniels was 2 for 3 with 2 runs
-Clow was 2 for 3 with 2 runs and an RBI
-Stephenson was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's

In the Circle
-Starter Carissa Cedillo pitched 4 innings allowing 8 hits and 4 earned runs
