Franciscan 4, Allegheny 5

Doubles
     Franciscan would make the trip to Allegheny for a rematch of the 2022 PAC Championship. The #1 pairing of Maria Herrera and Olivia Colby would remain undefeated on the year, as they won 8-2. Jordan Beltavski and Delaney Dawson would fall at #3 by that same score. At #2 doubles, it would be a grinding back and forth match, but Claire Cardie and Veronica Saunders would fall 8-6. That would put the Barons in a 2-1 deficit heading into singles play. 

Singles
    Allegheny would take the third point by winning #6 singles, but the Barons would answer. Maria Herrera continued her dominance at #1 with a straight sets win. Claire Cardie was next to finish at #3 with a similar win. The Gators would take the #5 match to put the score at 4-3. The Barons would have to win the final two matches if they were going to beat the reigning PAC Champions. Freshman Jordan Beltavski won 7-5, 6-2 at #4 to level the score at 4-4. In the decisive match at #2, Olivia Colby would win the opening set 6-4, but then fall 6-3, 6-4 in the next two sets to end the match in Meadville.

Next Up
    Franciscan will have four players compete in the ITA Central Region Championships on Friday thru Sunday in Saint Louis. Maria Herrera, Olivia Colby, Claire Caride, and Veronica Saunders will make the trip on Thursday. Herrera and Colby will play in the singles and doubles draws, while Cardie and Saunders will just be in the singles draw.
