How It Happened
Franciscan made the trip to Latrobe on Tuesday afternoon to take on Saint Vincent in a PAC tilt. Jazzlyn Melnyk earned her first double double of the season with a team-high 14 rebounds.
Maria McCallen, coming off of 32 points at Grove City, led the charge for the Barons in the first quarter with five points. The Barons had a balanced attack in the second quarter, but the Bearcats expanded the lead in the second quarter by shooting 65% from the floor during that 10 minute stretch.
McCallen led the Barons in scoring in the third, and Gemma Biasutto would join the scoring column as well. Melnyk made a pair of three point field goals in the fourth, and Helen Leon scored her first collegiate points, as the Barons scored 23 points in the final 10 quarter.

Franciscan will have some time off for Thanksgiving break, as they do not return to the floor until Wednesday, December 4th at Bethany. The Barons are looking to snap an eight-game skid against the Bison and pick up their first win at their place since 2019. In that 52-49 win, Abby Baierl shot 7-10, including 5-6 from beyond the arc to score 21 points and lead the Barons to the win.
