The Latest
- The Barons were picked to finish 10th in the PAC in the 2024-25 season. That is where they finished last season with a 4-21 record, including a 2-18 mark in conference games. They won three out of their first five games last season, including a pair at the Nan Nichols Classic at Wooster to win that Tournament.Â
- 13 Barons are on the season opening roster with four freshman and one sophomore being new to the program.

Scouting the Redhawks
- La Roche was picked to finish second in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) earlier this week. They won the AMCC Regular Season Championship last season, but then lost in the AMCC Championship to Penn State Behrend by a score of 73-54.Â
- The Redhawks have eight upperclassmen this year, including four of their top five leading scorers from last season. They have also added a fifth year player, Kiyanna Dowling from Washington & Jefferson.Â
- Last season, the Redhawks beat the Barons 106-57 in the season opening game.Â

Reedy is Ready

Caroline Reedy looks to build upon a strong 2023-24 season. She led the Barons with 263 points (10.5 ppg) and was second on the team with 176 rebounds (7.0 rpg). She had a team-high 55 steals as well which is the 4th most by a Baron in a season all-time.
- Last season against La Roche, she scored 12 points and pulled in 11 rebounds for one of her three double doubles.

Melnyk Making Moves

Jazzlyn Melnyk returns after missing the 2023-24 season due to injury. She enters the season 13th in all-time scoring with 501 points. Marian Weber '11 sits in 12th (508), and Raegen Stead '18 is 11th (515), as Melnyk looks to climb the ranks this season. Lacey Huck '15 is the all-time leading scorer with 1,344 points over four seasons in Steubenville.
- She sits in eighth with 280 rebounds on the Franciscan all-time list. Monica Dawyot '16 is one spot above her with 400 rebounds, and Lacey Huck '15 holds the all-time record with 853.
-Melnyk is 6th in all-time assists with 140 over just two seasons. With two assists, she will move into 5th and pass Marian Weber '11 (141). Monica Dawyot '16 holds the all-time record with 206. Her 2.9 assists per game through two seasons is the program record heading into the season.
- She is also in the Top 10 in steals in a career. She sits in sixth with 106, and is closing in on Head Coach,
Iliana Spoelman '16 (133) to move into fifth. Marian Weber '11 holds the all-time record with 161.

Inside the Paint

Maria McCallen returns as the primary forward for the Barons after a great start to her collegiate career last season. She averaged 9.3 ppg over 23 games including 19 starts. She also averaged 5.7 rebounds per game. Her 26 blocks was the most by a freshman in program history and sits her tied for ninth most in program history.Â
