How It Happened
Franciscan made the trip up north to Allegheny on Saturday afternoon to take on the top-ranked Gators. A tough first half for the Barons gave the Gators a 20-point edge, but the Barons looked much better in the second half. They went toe to toe with the Gators and lost the second half by just one point.

Maria McCallen led the Barons 20 points, her third consecutive game with 20 or more points. 16 of her points came in an impressive second half for the Franciscan forward. Caroline Reedy returned and scored eight points while pulling down nine rebounds in 37 minutes of action. Allegheny's Emily Lauer led all scorers with 23 points on 8 of 16 shooting.

Inside the Numbers
- Reedy had a season-high five assists.
- Over her last five games, McCallen is averaging 23.2 ppg.
- This was the first game of McCallen's career that she didn't commit a personal foul.
- The Gators had 17 second chance points while pulling down twice as many offensive rebounds as the Barons

Up Next
Franciscan will have a quick turnaround, as they take on Hiram on Monday in Steubenville. This will be a non-conference matchup, but next season the Terriers will be a conference opponent. Hiram is joining the PAC as a full-time member starting with the 2025-26 season. Franciscan is in search of their first win against Hiram in program history, but they have only played each other three times over the last nine seasons. This will be the second time ever that the Terriers have played in Finnegan Fieldhouse. Hiram has won four of their last five and will enter this matchup with a 5-3 record overall on the season.
