The Latest
- Franciscan last took the court against Bethany on Wednesday for a conference tilt. The Bison were victorious by a score of 89-55.

- Maria McCallen led the way with 26 points and 12 rebounds in her second double-double of the season.
 
Scouting the Tomcats
- Thiel is off to a slow start in the 2024-25 season, as they are in search of their first win. They are in search of their first win since January 30, 2023, when they beat Waynesburg 60-59.

- Their leading scorer so far this season is Kayley Risser, a freshman from Reynolds, Pennsylvania. She has scored double-digit points in half her games this season, as she is averaging 10.8 ppg. 

- They average 56.75 points per game as a team, which just edges out the Barons, who come into this game at 56.29.  

- The Barons are 5-1 all-time against the Tomcats, as they have won five straight against them. Last season in Steubenville, the Barons won 89-53, as Caroline Reedy led all scorers with 22 points. Four Barons in total scored in double-digits while they shot 48% from the field in the win.
 
McCallen Has Been Money
- Over the last three games, Maria McCallen is averaging 25.3 ppg and 10.0 rpg, while shooting over 50% from the field

- She is averaging 20.8 ppg in conference matchups so far this season which is second best in the conference.

- Through 30 collegiate games, she has 333 points, one-third of the way to 1,000 career points. 

Newcomer Makes a Splash
- Abbigail Jannuzi made four three-point field goals at Bethany on Wednesday, the most by a Baron player this season.

- That was the most by a Baron since Caroline Reedy made four against Westminster last December. The last Baron to make five or more three-point field goals in a game was Felicia MacGillivray when she made six against Geneva on February 9, 2022.

- Jazzlyn Melnyk now has scored 550 points to be 11th in all-time scoring. Angela Starre '22 is 10th (554), as Melnyk looks to climb the ranks this season. Lacey Huck '15 is the all-time leading scorer with 1,344 points over four seasons in Steubenville.

-Melnyk is fourth all-time assists with 164. Abby Baierl '19 sits in third with 191 over her time in Steubenville. Monica Dawyot '16 holds the all-time record with 206. 

- She is also in the Top 10 in steals in a career. She sits in sixth with 121 and is closing in on Head Coach, Iliana Spoelman '16 (133) to move into fifth. Marian Weber '11 holds the all-time record with 161.

- She sits in eighth with 337 rebounds on the Franciscan all-time list. Monica Dawyot '16 is one spot above her with 400 rebounds, and Lacey Huck '15 holds the all-time record with 853.

Gonzales Tracker
- She is 15th all-time in scoring with 458 points. Felicia MacGillivray sits in 14th with 494 points over her two seasons with the Barons.

- She is tied for 13th with Kaitlyn Sonneberger at 89 assists. Hannah Flanagan sits in 12th with 95 assists over her three seasons of play.
