How It Happened
Franciscan concluded the 2023-24 regular season with Senior Day at home against Saint Vincent. The Barons would honor Ashley Benson, Natalie Conner, Sophie LaRose, and Isabel Atnedido before the game with a large crowd of family and friends packing in Finnegan Fieldhouse.
After all the festivities, the Bearcats offense would come out firing. They shot 58.3% from the floor in the opening quarter to take control of this one. The Barons answered in the second quarter with 19 points of their own. It would be a balanced attack with seven different players scoring in that quarter. That would set the score at 27-20 at the half with the Barons trailing by seven points.
The Bearcats would connect on a trio of three pointers in the third quarter to expand upon their lead. Giulianna Biasutto would make a three pointer of her own in the beginning of the fourth quarter to set the score a 42-31. The Bearcats would then go on a 7-0 run to take this one out of reach. Caroline Reedy would make the final jumper of the year for Franciscan, as the Bearcats would close this one out by a score of 58-44.
