ORLANDO -- Franciscan started off their annual spring break trip to Florida with a busy Monday that included a pair of matches. They picked up their first win of the season in the morning against Western Connecticut State, and then they would fall to a talented Wisconsin La-Crosse team in the evening.
Franciscan 6, Western Connecticut 3
Doubles
   The Barons would take care of business by winning two of the three matches. First to finish would be the #3 doubles pairing on
Samuel Sabol and
Callahan Hecton, who won 8-4. The freshman duo of
Christopher Yvars and
Aaron Heinlein would win by the same result at #2 doubles.
Travis Mistry and
Aidan Palladino fell at the #1 spot.
Singles
  First to finish would be
David Bourdelais at #6 singles, as he won 6-0, 6-2.
Travis Mistry picked up his first win of the season at #1 singles in straight sets.
Callahan Hecton would split the first two sets at #5 before winning the tiebreak 10-3. The last Baron to win would be
Aaron Heinlein at #2 singles in straight sets, as the Barons earned their first team win of 2024.Â

Franciscan 2, Wisconsin-La Crosse 7
Doubles
   The freshman duo of
Christopher Yvars and
Aaron Heinlein were the lone pairing to pick up a point. They would win 8-7 in a close back and forth battle. The other pairings would be the same as the morning match.
Singles
  The same six players that played singles in the morning would play in the evening.
Travis Mistry would make it a 2-0 day, as he pulled off a three set win at the #1 spot. He would win 6-1 and then drop 3-6. He rallied in the tiebreaker to win 11-9. Heinlein would force it to a tiebreaker but fall 10-5 in that to drop #2 singles.Â
Next Up
  Franciscan will remain busy in the Sunshine State, as they take on Anderson on Tuesday afternoon. This match will be played in Kissimmee at the Oak Street Courts, as the Barons take on their former Head Coach Scott Greve and the Ravens for the first time in program history.
