Short Story: Several Barons reach the podium, as the Barons compete in cold and blustery conditions. 

Results

Highlights for the Women
  • Jessica Campbell would place second in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:48.20. 
  • Lauren Dosch would also make the podium in the 1500m with a time of 4:55.22 in her first collegiate attempt in this event. Claire Walters placed 14th, MaryElizabeth Savage placed 54th, and MaryKate McCusker placed 55th.
  • Rebecca Bolster kept up the success for the Barons, as she placed third in the 400m with a time of 1:03.02. That would be the fifth fastest time in program history.
  • Campbell reached the podium once again in the 800m. She would place third with a time of 2:23.33 to be the fastest Division III runner in the field of 27 runners. 
Highlights for the Men
  • On Friday, Raphael Blose would be the lone Baron to compete. He placed 10th in the javelin with a best throw of 39.74m in his first time competing in this event for Franciscan.
  • In the 100m dash, Andrew Menck placed 20th with a time of 11.69 seconds. Dwayne Gethard was just behind him in 21st. Luke Tran placed 40th.
  • Seamus Sommers posted a time of 4:23.86 to place 20th in the 1500m. Thomas Dittmer placed 33rd, and Eduardo Torres placed 35th.
  • Nicholas Brass placed 10th in the shot put with a best throw of 13.27m. That is the fourth best throw in program history and second best of his collegiate outdoor career.
  • Luke Tran jumped 4.56m in the long jump to place 18th. 
  • Ryan Ozymy placed third in the 800m with a time of 1:58.43 to start off his outdoor season with a strong showing. 
  • John Sicree reached the podium with a sixth place finish in the 400m hurdles. His time of 1:00.72 is now the fourth fastest in program history. Dwayne Gethard was not far behind him in ninth place.
  • Menck would place 21st in the 200m with a time of 23.71 seconds.
Up Next
The Barons will have next weekend off for Easter break before they return to action at Slippery Rock on April 6th. They will compete in the Dave Labor Invitational, which has become a yearly stop for the Barons. This will be a great test of schools from all Divisions from across the region.
