How It Happened
The outfielders were the stars for game 2. Benson and Paul were blankets in center and right field. They were extremely busy out there, and if not for their solid play the game would have got out of hand and ended much sooner.
In the bottom of the 6th the Barons found life hitting down the right field line.
Kyra Collins led the Barons off for the inning. With the dugout chanting "fiver, fiver, hit one down the liner!" Collins ripped one down the right field line dropping it just inside the foul line. Benson and Davis followed suit and for the first time this year, the bases were juiced. Fluharty stepped up to the line and cranked one over the head of the center fielder and getting her third double of the year. Cedillo singled to add another run and bring the Barons to within two runs (3-5).
However, the Bearcats put up a few more runs in the seventh and shut the Barons out in the bottom of the seventh to win 8-3
