Franciscan 7, La Roche 0

Steubenville, Ohio - Franciscan would kickoff the 2024-25 season with a dominant sweep over La Roche. 

Doubles
    Claire Caride teamed up with Kina Ehlers at #1 doubles, and they would take care of business without dropping a point. Olivia Colby joined Jordan Beltavski at the #2 spot, and they would win 6-1. Lucy Rochat and Veronica Saunders were paired together at #3, but they would advance on a forfeit due to the Redhawks having just four players today. 

Singles
    Hazel Mistry and Margaret Vernau would earn forfeit victories in the #5 and #6 spots to start singles. Beltavski and Ehlers would remain dominant with straight set wins of 6-0, 6-0. Colby would be the next to finish by a score of 6-1, 6-0. Claire Cardie would make it a clean sweep with the win at the #1 spot. 

Next Up
    Franciscan will hit the road on Saturday for one of their longest road trips of the fall. They will take on Capital in Columbus at 1:00 p.m. The Barons and Comets have only played each other once, as the Barons won in Steubenville by a score of 7-2 last season. It will be their second match of the season, as Capital will take on Cedarville on Friday afternoon.
