Barons Remain Perfect at Home in Senior Day Victory

Steubenville, Ohio - Franciscan Women's Tennis honored their seniors, Anabel Stickney, Lauren Schoenberger, Hannah Franzone, Kina Ehlers, and Claire Cardie, before the match. All of the seniors made a mark on this match, as the Barons were able to improve to 5-0 at Belleview Courts this season.

Doubles
   Thiel had five players today, so Hannah Franzone and Lucy Rochat earned the walkover win at #3. Claire Cardie and Kina Ehlers a were able to win 6-1 at #1, and Anabel Stickney and Catherine Grubb won by the same score. 

Singles
   Colette Park earned a walkover at #6 to give the Barons 2-0 lead. Jordan Beltavski made it 3-0. After winning the first set, her opponent retired with injury. Lauren Schoenberger came through on Senior Day with the fourth point to secure the win for the Barons. Claire Cardie and Kina Ehlers followed that up with wins at #1 and #2. Hannah Franzone battled at #6 but fell. That gave the Barons a 6-1 win.

Next Up
    Franciscan is set to conclude the regular season on Tuesday at Geneva. The Barons are 6-1 all-time against the Golden Tornadoes with wins in their last six matchups. Their lone loss to them came in the Fall of 2010 during Franciscan's first NCAA season. This will be a pivotal match for both teams in seeding for the upcoming PAC Championship Tournament.
