How It HappenedÂ
  Franciscan Women's Basketball hosted Denison on Wednesday night. The Barons came in with a record of 3-2, and Denison entered with an undefeated mark. Unfortunately, the opposition was able to remain unbeaten, as they won by a score of 84-49
  The Barons came out and shot the ball well in the opening quarter, as both teams shot 47% from he floor for 10 minutes. The Big Red were able to use their bench and size to get several extra looks to build a 10-point lead. The Barons closed out the quarter well to have a score of 22-16 at the break. Denison made their move in the first five minutes of the second quarter. They outscored the Barons 14-3 to take a controlling lead. Seven different Barons scored in the opening half, as they closed out the quarter well. Denison led 50-26 at halftime.
  Abbigail Jannuzzi led the Barons with five early points in the third. The Barons had a great quarter, as they kept it close, but they were not able to cut into the deficit.
Magdalen Simon added six points in the fourth quarter to get into double figures. The Big Red expanded the lead a little in the fourth, as they won this non-conference battle.
Inside the NumbersÂ
- Jannuzi led the Barons with 12 points on 5-10 shooting.Â
- Simon added 11 points off the bench.
- Both Jannuzi and Simon made a pair of three-point field goals.
 - Denison won the rebounding battle 57-37
Up NextÂ
Franciscan will head to Michigan this weekend to play in a tournament at Hope College. They will take on Illinois Wesleyan on Friday and Carthage on Saturday. This will be the first time that Franciscan has played each of these opponents.
