Franciscan 6, Waynesburg 1
STEUBENVILLE, OHIO -Â Franciscan Women's Tennis kicked off PAC play on Thursday afternoon in a big way. They beat Waynesburg by a score of 6-1 to improve to 3-0 on the young season and earn their first PAC win of the season.

Kina Ehlers and
Claire Cardie were the first off the court, as they won 6-0 at the #1 spot.
Maggie Gallagher and
Elizabeth Swift took care of business at #3 by a score of 6-2, and
Jordan Beltavski and
Lucy Rochat followed that up with a 6-1 win at #2. That gave the Barons a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
Singles
 Â
Sophia Pastura was the first to finish, as she won in straight sets at the #6 spot. That win was her first of the season, in her first singles match, as her strong serve led to a quick match.
Colette Park followed suit with a dominant win at #5, and just like that the Barons were one match away from taking down the Yellow Jackets.
Kina Ehlers won the decisive point with a straight sets win at #2 to seal the team win.
Claire Cardie and
Jordan Beltavski also pulled through with convincing wins, and
Lucy Rochat just fell in a third set tiebreaker at #4.Â
Next Up
  Franciscan will remain in PAC play, as they head to Allegheny on Tuesday to take on the Gators in a rematch of last season's conference championship. The Barons fell 4-3 in the title game, but the Barons are hungry for their first win against the Gators. Allegheny is also 1-0 in PAC play, as they swept Westminster on Sept. 10th.
