PAC Championship Rematch Goes in the Gators' Favor

Franciscan 0, Allegheny 7

Meadville, Pa. - Franciscan Women's Tennis made the trip up to Allegheny on Tuesday afternoon for a rematch of last season's PAC Championship at the same venue. The Gators were able to come out on top, but several close matches were played with some positive takeaways for the Barons.

Box Score

Doubles
Kina Ehlers and Claire Cardie got back to their winning ways, as they took down a talented duo of freshmen from Allegheny. The Barons dropped the other two matches, as the Gators were able to secure the doubles point.

Singles
Jordan Beltavski and Colette Park each went to a third-set tiebreaker at #3 and #4. They each narrowly fell but were very close, hard-fought matches. Kina Ehlers fell 7-5, 6-4 at #2, as all three of these matches could have went the way of the Barons. Instead, the Gators were able to win the other three matches in three sets to secure a sweep.

Next Up
Franciscan remains in PAC play on Wednesday at home, as Washington & Jefferson comes to Steubenville. The Barons are 8-2 all-time against the Presidents, but they fell to them last season by a score of 5-2. Before that matchup, the Barons won seven consecutive meetings. The Presidents are 4-0 this season, including a conference win over Saint Vincent.
