STEUBENVILLE, OHIO -Â Franciscan Women's Tennis took on Washington & Jefferson in a pivotal PAC match on Wednesday afternoon. The Presidents entered the contest with an undefeated record, but the Barons took care of business to earn the win.Â
Doubles
 Â
Maggie Gallagher and
Elizabeth Swift made quick work of their opponents at #3, by a score of 6-1. Unfortunately,
Sophia Pastura and
Jordan Beltavski fell by that same score at #2.
Kina Ehlers and
Claire Cardie pulled through the third match in a close one. They won 7-5 at #1 to give Franciscan a 1-0 lead, as we entered singles play.Â
Singles
  The top of the lineup took care of business tonight. The Barons won matches at #1, #2, and #3 in straight sets.
Claire Cardie,
Kina Ehlers, and
Jordan Beltavski were the Barons to earn those wins.
Colette Park continued her impressive freshman campaign with a win at #5, as the Barons went on to win 5-2.
Lauren Schoenberger fell in a close match at #4, and
Elizabeth Swift went all the way to a tiebreaker at #6.
Next Up
  Franciscan will have a pair of players represent them at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional Championship in Saint Louis this weekend.
Claire Cardie and
Kina Ehlers will compete in singles and doubles with the best of the best from the Central Region.
