Race Highlights
Franciscan Men's Cross Country competed in their first large meet of the young season on Friday night at the All-Ohio Championship. 20 schools and several individuals all gathered on a hot evening in Cedarville. The Barons placed 15th overall with several Division I and II schools in attendance, as they were the 7th best among the Division III schools.
The heat and flatter course seemed to suit
Maxwell Bruns, as the PAC Newcomer of the Week led the charge for the Barons. He cut over a minute off of 8k time at Bethany, as he placed 98th with a time of 26:43.7. He was the third-fastest Division III freshman in the field.
Seamus Sommers was right on his heels in 101st, as he showed great improvement in time from the Bethany meet as well.
Luke Hurley ran his first 8k of the season and placed 169th.
Aidan Mohr shattered his PR time with a very impressive showing of cutting nearly two minutes off his time from last week. The fifth finisher for the Barons was
Daniel Wilson. He also beat his 8K PR by over a minute. Several other Barons set new personal record times as well.
Cedarville had 65 points to win the team title. Otterbein was the best finisher among Division III schools in 4th with 133 points. Franciscan had 447 points in 15th place.Â
