The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced the Men's Cross Country weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon, and Franciscan had a pair of players honored.
Andrew Madigan (Sr. Lawrenceville, N.J. / The Wilberforce School) was named PAC Runner of the Week, and
Maxwell Bruns (Fr. Gilbert, Ariz. / Arete Prepatory) was named PAC Newcomer of the Week.
Madigan placed second overall at Westminster's Fisher Invite on Friday evening. He was first to finish among the NCAA Division III runners and just a tenth of a second behind a Division I runner from Robert Morris. His time of 15:55.7 is the second-fastest 5K in program history, as only All-AmericanÂ
Liam Galligan has a faster 5K time with a 15:31.0 at the same course in the 2021 Fisher Invite.
Bruns was the fastest NCAA Division III freshman at the Fisher Invite on Friday night. He placed 10th overall with a time of 16:24.2 in his collegiate debut, which was the fastest time among all PAC freshmen over the opening weekend.
This is the second time that Madigan has earned a PAC Weekly honor, and this is the first honor for Bruns.Â
The Barons will not compete this weekend, but will return to action at the Bethany Invite on September 13th.
