Greensburg, Pa. - Franciscan Men's Tennis made the trip over the Pitt.Greensburg to take on the Bobcats indoors on Tuesday. A young group with just one returner playing today represented the Barons, as several players are studying abroad in Austria this fall. The Barons were able to take care of business and secure the non-conference win to start the season.

Doubles
  The Barons were able to win the doubles point, even with a walkover loss at #3. At #1
Esteban Webber-Bernal teamed up with
Thomas Clavell to win 6-2.
Lucas Kanzelberger and
David Drejza followed that with a win at #2 by a score of 6-3.Â
Singles
  The Barons needed to win three singles matches to secure the team victory, and with a walkover at #5, they had to win three out of the five remaining matches. The young Barons stepped up and won four of them to secure the 1-0 start to the season.
David Drejza and
Lucas Kanzelberger continued their strong day with wins at #2 and #3. Webber-Bernal pulled through at #4, and
Raymond Barrett picked up his first singles win at #6.
Next Up
  Franciscan will resume play against West Liberty for their lone home match of the season on Tuesday, October 7th. The Barons have played the Hilltoppers in some tournaments over the years, and in a dual last season, but that was suspended due to darkness. The match is set to start at 4:00 p.m.
