Today's senior spotlight is
Elizabeth Maxwell, a four-year member of the softball team from Roswell, Ga. Last season, the Nursing major batted .368 with a team-high 28 hits while starting in all 30 games. She looks to have her best season to date in 2026 to conclude her collegiate career on a high-note.
What are you looking forward to most about the upcoming season?
Maxwell: The spring break trip!
What is your most memorable moment at Franciscan throughout your career?
Maxwell: The most memorable moments are each year on our spring break trips. It's a time where I get to bond with my team and make countless memories. I think the funniest memory though is one time someone hit a foul ball and my teammate Kyra was on deck. She tried to run from the ball but it landed directly in her path and bounced so high off the top of her helmet. I will never forget that one.
What are your plans after graduating from Franciscan?
Maxwell: I plan on returning home to Georgia and working as a nurse. I plan on working towards becoming a flight nurse!
Who has made the biggest impact on your life?
Maxwell: My parents, I would not be where I am today without their love and support. Also, my coach Dani Pillar. During my time at Franciscan, she has been a mentor towards me. She pushed me to be the best version of myself and I am so thankful for her.
What is the best piece of advice that you can give to the incoming freshmen at Franciscan?
Maxwell: I would tell them to take advantage of all the faith opportunities at Franciscan. I did and it was the best thing I could've ever done for my relationship with Jesus. That is the thing I will miss the most when I leave. Also, take advantage of all the time you have with your friends. Before you know it, you'll be a senior like me. Finally, go to Austria! It is amazing and you won't regret it.
