The Latest

- Overall, the Barons have a record of 7-3 this season, which places it at fourth place in the conference currently.

- Last Monday, at the match against Thiel College, Franciscan had a sweeping victory, adding another tally to the win column. In both singles and doubles, all won a strong victory against the Tomcats.

Bearing with the Bearcats and the Bobcats

- After six games this season, Saint Vincent has had its streak of losses. This places it at a current standing of second to last in the conference.

- Last Saturday against Waynesburg University, the Bearcats fell by a score of 4-3.

- With ten matches behind them, the Bobcats have won three and lost seven. 

- On Wednesday, September 23rd at Geneva College, University of Pittsburgh in Greensburg fell to the Golden Tornadoes by a score of 7-0.

- In singles, Karen Rabe and Nancy Jiang lead their team with win-loss ratios of 7-3 and 6-4, respectively.

- In doubles, Jiang and Gabi Moder lead with a win-loss ratio of 8-2, while Rabe and Sophia Lepore are second with a 6-3 record.

Rising Through the Ranks

- In doubles play of the last match, Jordan Beltavski and Colette Park as well as Paige Mattle and Hazel Mistry both won by a score of 6-0. Their teammates, Emily Hunter and Sophia Pastura, won by a score of 6-1.

- The winners of the singles matches included Beltavski, Park, Mattle, Mistry, Pastura, and Mila Esposito, all who won in two sets. Each of the set scores were within the score range of 6-0 to 6-3.

Special Notes

- Other than hosting two home matches this week, it is also Senior Day for the Women's Tennis Team this Thursday. The ceremony will start at 4:15 PM sharp. Come support the graduating athletes!

- Since 2014, the Barons have played 13 matches against Saint Vincent, and have won all of them. 

- Since 2010, Franciscan has played 16 matches against University of Pittsburgh in Greensburg, winning 14 and losing two. During their last matchup, the Barons won by a score of 7-0.
