Box Score
Doubles
Penn State Behrend swept the doubles to take a 1-0 lead, but each match was competitive.
Aaron Heinlein and
Christopher Yvars lost 6-4 at #1.
David Bourdelais teamed up with
Kolbe Olszewski at #2 to a score of 6-2, and
David Drejza and
Matthew Suess dropped by a score of 6-3 at #3.Â
Singles
Drejza dropped in straight sets at #4 to give the Lions a 2-0 edge. Heinlein got the Barons on the board, against his hometown team, with a win at #1, by a score of 6-1, 6-0. At #2, Yvars dropped two close sets to put the Lions at 3-1, just one point from taking down the Barons.
David Bourdelais dropped his opening set, but won the second by a score of 7-5. Unfortunately, he lost the third set. Olskewski lost his opening set as well, but, like Bourdelais, he rallied in the second. He also dropped the final set, but he continues to show improvement in his first semester with the team.
Raymond Barrett won the first set at #6, but he dropped the second set and fell in a tiebreaker 11-9.Â
It was a very close match, but the Barons look to learn from this and continue to get healthy and strong from their upcoming tests.Â
