How It Happened
The Franciscan Barons faced Penn State Beaver's Lady Lions for a non-conference doubleheader in Monaca, PA.
The Barons began the game with a boisterous bench. They had two powerful swings in the first inning, but both were caught by the Lady Lions.
The Lady Lions started their hitting game off swinging, finishing the first inning 3-0. The Barons found a better rhythm in the second inning. Senior
Elizabeth Maxwell had a powerful hit allowing the Barons to gain two runs and closing the gap. After an eventful top of the second, the Barons led the game 5-3. But the Lady Lions regained the lead 6-5, going into the third inning.
In the third inning, the Barons scored one run and were able to stop the Lady Lions from gaining any runs in this inning, now sitting in a tied game 6-6.
The Barons were unable to score in the fourth inning while the Lady Lions took the lead, gaining five more runs.
The Barons only scored one more run for the game as the Lady Lions secured the win gaining four more. The first game of the night was a loss for the Barons 7-15.
The Barons had seven to the Lady Lion's 14 RBI's.

How It Happened
In the second game of their doubleheader, the Barons earned two runs in the first inning. This was quickly combated by the Lady Lions, ending the first inning tied at 2-2.
The Barons took the lead in the second inning, advancing the score to 3-2.
In the third inning, the Barons had one run, while the Lady Lions took the lead with 5 more runs. The Barons only scored two more runs for the rest of the game as the Lady Lions went on to earn seven more. The Barons fell again to the Lady Lions 6-14.

Hayley Cook pitched for 4.2 innings. Cook also had three of Franciscan's four RBI's.
