How it Happened

• The Panthers came out with a 7-2 run to start the game, including one of JoJo France's five threes in the early going. Action would speed up as seven buckets were exchanged back and forth without a miss, to have the score stand at 19-14 Panthers. Matt Trent added two layups and Gabriel Roach added a three to tie the game up for the first time since the tip at 21-21. Franciscan would take the lead and expand the lead to their largest lead of four off a fast break Joe Schriner jumper. With 6:25 left in the first half Franciscan was up 32-28. The Panthers would go on a 15-1 run to end the half, with seven points coming from Matt Johnson to take a 10 point lead into the break.
• Cam Seigfried opened up the second half with a three for the Panthers, only to responded by a three of his own from John Noce. JoJo France would remain hot as he added five points over the next two minutes on a Panther 7-0 run, to give them a 17 point lead. Franciscan would battle back of a pair of Roach buckets and Justin Mack three set the score 57-49 Panthers with 12:33 left. Unfortunately that would prove to be the closest the Barons would get to the lead, as the Panthers would expand the lead up to 19 at one time and proceed to win 85-68.

• Four Barons scored in double figures tonight: Joe Schriner 14, Sean Hickey 11, career high 11 for Freshman Gabriel Roach in 15 minutes and Matt Trent 10. JoJo France led all scorers with 28 points, including 5-10 from downtown.
• Matt Trent grabbed 7 rebounds to lead the Barons, Pitt.-Greensburg out rebounded Franciscan 37-31 on the night.
