STEUBENVILLE, OH - Washington and Jefferson came out of the locker room hot, as they would take a seven point defect at the half and respond with 19-0 run to take a commanding lead. A late three by Zach Queen would be the difference as W&J wins the thriller by two.Â

How it Happened
- The Barons and Presidents would go back and forth in the early going of the first half as seven minutes in the score would stand tied at 12-12. Joe Schriner started with an early five points and John Noce had four, in the early stalemate. A 10-0 run would give the Barons a commanding lead including the first bucket of the year for Dalton Davis and Drazen Frankovitch's first of his Baron career. Zach Queen subbed in for the Presidents and got a rally going as back to back threes would tighten this game back up. Sean Hickey would lead the charge by the Barons as he would have seven of his game high twenty down the stretch of the first half, giving Franciscan a 33-27 lead at the half.
- Washington and Jefferson came out on fire to start the second half as a 19-0 run would last for nearly the first nine minutes of action, including two more triples by Queen. Sean Hickey would finally snap the streak with a layup to set the score to 45-35. Primo Zini would add an add one fastbreak layup to give the Presidents their largest lead of the game at 48-35. The Barons responded by going on a 20-7 run to knot the game up at 55-55.Frankovitch added seven of his fifteen points on the night in that stretch. Points would be exchanged back and forth as the game would remain tied at 63-63, and Washington & Jefferson would possess the ball under their own basket with seven seconds left. Zach Queen would get a wide open look, with lots of contact on the back screen, and he would bury it to be the eventual game winner.Â

- Sean Hickey, in thrity-one minutes of play, led all scorers with 20 points, the 7th 20+ point game of his career. Drazen Frankovitch added 15 points in his Baron debut.
- Franciscan All-Time leading rebounder Matt Trent added 5 rebounds along with Hickey and Frankovitch.
- Franciscan would win the rebounding and turnover battle, but was not enough to combat the largest run of the game by Washington and Jefferson of nineteen points to start the 2nd half.
