• The Short Story: The Lady Barons swept Medaille in three tough fought sets before getting swept by the Lions in straight sets at the AMCC Quad Match on Saturday.
 
How it Happened - Medaille
• Trailing 11-10 midway through the first set, the Lady Barons used a 7-0 run highlighted by a pair of service aces from junior Lauren Betar to take a 17-11 lead. Franciscan closed out the match with a 3-0 run thanks to a pair of kills from Renee Antonelli and Emily Nutter.
• Franciscan built an 23-17 lead over the Mavericks. Medaille got a pair of points back before the first Lady Baron set point at 24-19, The Mavericks scored three-straight points before Antonelli kill ended the set 25-22 in favor of Franciscan.
• The Lady Barons raced out to a 21-9 lead in the final setand after Medaille got a pair of points back, junior Sydney Riley halted a Maverick run with a kill. A pair of Medaille attack errors ended the set and match in favor of Franciscan 25-13.
 
How it Happened – Penn State Behrend
• The Lions took an early 11-3 lead in the first set and used a four- and five-point run to take the first set 25-10.
• After Penn State Behrend took a 7-2 lead early in the second set, Franciscan rattled off three-straight points behind two Caite O'Malley service aces to cut the lead to 7-5. The Lions closed out the set with two different five-point runs to win the second set, 25-11.
• Penn State Behrend took an 11-3 lead and never looked back in the third and final set as Franciscan put together a three-point and two-point run. The Lions ended the match with a kill and service ace to win 25-11.

Inside the Box Score
• Renee Antonelli led the Lady Barons with 18 kills between the two matches, including 14 against Medaille.
• Emily Nutter handed out 16 assists between the two matches while Sydney Riley had 14 assists.
• Riley finished the day with 20 digs and Lauren Betar had 21 digs between the two matches.
