How it Happened
- The opening quarter was an action packed back and forth thriller as both teams offenses came out firing early. Estelle Leon opened up the game by making the Lady Barons first bucket. Kelsey Scott-Avery made an early three pointer as the score was tied up at 6-6. Alfred State would take charge of this one as they would build a five point lead with one minute left in the quarter. Clare McGahan made a late three to send them into the second quarter down by two.
- Angela Starre made a quick bucket to tie this one up at 18-18 in the early going of the quarter. The Lady Barons would stretch out to a five point lead as Rose Judge and Starre, but the Pioneers battled all the way back to tie it up at 29-29 with three minutes left in the half. Starre and Leon added buckets to take a two point lead into the half.Â
- Skylar Shaulis came out of the half strong by hitting a pair of threes to give Alfred State a one point edge. The Barons offense would respond in a big way as a 15-2 run would ensue. Abby Baeirl would be responsible for ten of the Franciscan points as she connected on pair of threes and two other buckets. Starre would also connect on a three and a late buzzer beating running layup by Leon would send them to the final quarter up by 13.
- The Lady Barons would keep their foot on the gas as they steadily raised the lead all the way up to 18 with five minutes left in the quarter. It was a very strong quarter to end a commanding win. Kaitlyn Sonneberger added a late three pointer as the Lady Barons won 73-58.

- Angela Starre recorded her second double double of the week with 19 points and 11 rebounds
