How it Happened
- It would be all Lions for the first four minutes of this game as they would be ahead 7-0. Travis Lien would sub in and make his presence known instantly as he hit his first jumper and a three pointer to tighten it up at 7-5. The Lions would go on to hold the lead for most of the first half, but the Barons battled along steadily. Sean Hickey would make a jumper with 3:31 left in the half to tie this game up for the first time. Then with 1:41 left in the half junior Drazen Frankovitvh took the first Franciscan lead by making a hook shot.
- PJ Gourley opened up the half for Behrend by making a layup, and Matt Trent responded by making a jumper to regain the Franciscan lead. Dorian Connors would make a layup the next time down the floor with 18:57 remaining in the half, and unfortunately they would never relinquish this lead. The Barons would cut it to within one on numerous occasions, with the last being with 12:56 remaining, but a 10-0 Behrend run over the next two minuts would be the turning point of this game and put Behrend firmly in control. The Lions were very steady from the free throw line as they shot 87.5% for the game to help them cruise to a 81-71 win.
