How it Happened
- John Noce would make a running jumper to start the scoring in tonight's contest, but it would be a very low scoring half. Joe Schriner would connect on his first three point field goal to tie this one up at 7-7 with 16:20 to play. A 6-0 Mountie run gave them a seven point lead with 10:44 to play. Drazen Frankovitch would heat up, as he made three buckets in a row for the Barons to cut into the lead. Nate Christian would make back to back jumpers in response, and the Mounties had a ten point lead. Frankovitch would make another layup to send the Barons to the half down by six.
- Matt Trent was held scoreless in the first half, but he made an impact early in the second, as he made his first jumper to tighten it to a four point game. Unfortunately for the Barons, that would be the as close as they would get to the lead for the rest of the night. The Mounties would go on a 21-5 run to take total control of the this game, as they lead 53-32 with 9:29 to play, their largest lead of the night. A slow back and forth fouling battle would ensue, as the Barons would not be able to chip away at the Mounties lead too much. The Barons were able to cut it to an 11 point game with three minutes left, but the Mounties always responded with clutch free throws and big buckets late in the shot clock. Julian Stover and Carlos Palacio really led the way down the stretch to led the Mounties to a big win.
