How It Happened 
Selena Coronis scored a career high 17 points as the Barons fell in their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup with Geneva 85-61.

Franciscan fell in an early 6-0 hole, before Angela Starre got the offense going connecting on a pair of free throws and 3-pointer to pull the Barons back within one. Starre posted her second straight double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Barons would continue to keep pace with Golden Tornadoes for most of the quarter connecting on a couple of free throws and getting a pair of jump shots from Victoria Unnerstall. Ashely Benson would close the quarter by connecting on a jump shot from the paint cutting Geneva's lead to 3. 

The Golden Tornadoes started the second quarter on a 10-0 run capitalizing on a couple of baskets from leading scorer Tess Liggett. Liggett scored a team high 16 points. Sophie LaRose stopped the run with a layup. The Barons would battle back throughout the second quarter with Coronis pulling the Barons with in eight-points heading into the locker room. 

Clare McGahan started the second half connecting on a jump shot. After the teams traded baskets, Geneva went on a 14-2 to take control of the game. The Barons tried to close back within striking distance but struggled to break through the Golden Tornadoes press, eventually falling 85-61.  

Inside the Numbers 
- Selena Coronis netted a career high 17 points, recording a double-double with 10 rebounds
- Angela Starre posted her second consecutive double-double scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. She also posted a team high four steals
- Sophie LaRose filled the stat sheet scoring nine points, gathering six rebounds and coming away with three steals 
- Clare McGahan battled to grab nine rebounds, five of which were offensive
- The Barons drew 35 fouls, scoring 22 points from the free throw line
- The Golden Tornadoes won the battle on the glass, out rebounding the Barons 59-57
- Geneva offensive attack was led by Tess Liggett who score 16 points

Who's Next? 

Franciscan will head on the road for the first time this season, as they take on Thiel next Saturday. It will be the first meeting between the two teams in women's basketball history. It will also be Thiel's season opening game for the 2020-21 season. The Tomcats will be hungry for a victory, as they went 0-25 last season. They return four of their top five leading scorers, and they have brought in six freshman for the 2020-21 season.
