How It Happened 
The Lady Barons battled hard at Saint Vincent on Thursday evening, but they were unable to pull off the win. The Bearcats would win in straight sets.

In the first set, The Lady Barons came out strong. Brynn Jacobson had two kills in early on to give Franciscan a 5-1 edge. After Saint Vincent tied it up at 5-5, Franciscan would go on a 4-0 run to retake the lead. Franciscan would continue to control this set, as Lucy Pridemore added her first kill to set the score at 13-9. The Bearcats would respond with an 8-1 run to retake the lead. Cailtin O'Malley and Maria Bosco would add kills to help Franciscan retake the lead at 20-19. The Bearcats would gather a couple huge kills to take the lead and go on to win 25-22.

After a back and forth start to set number two, the Bearcats would hold a 4-3 lead. The Bearcats would then stretch out the lead with a 4-0 run. Franciscan would respond, as they were bale to battle back to tie it up at 9-9 thanks to a couple of kills by Pridemore. The Bearcats would take over once again, as they were the first team to fifteen points at 15-11. Franciscan had one more big run in them, as they were able to retake the lead at 19-18. Franciscan had the lead at 21-20 as well, but then the Bearcats scored the next three points. An attack error snapped the run, and Renee Antonelli added a kill to keep the pressure on the Bearcats, but they held strong an won 25-23.

The Bearcats jumped ahead big in set number three, as the score would be set at 10-2. Franciscan was able to rally back to a 12-8 score, but that would be as close as they would get to the lead for the rest of the set. A massive Saint Vincent 8-0 run ensued, and the Bearcats would take the third set.

Inside the Numbers 
- Brynn Jacobson led Franciscan with 11 kills.
- Sara Moore led the Lady Barons with 22 digs.
- Emily Nutter had all 28 assists for Franciscan tonight.
- Caitlin O'Malley, Maria Bosco and Brynn Jacobson each had one solo block on the night.
- Saint Vincent had seven aces on the night, while Franciscan only had one. 

Who's Next? 
Franciscan will return home to face Washington & Jefferson on Saturday. These two teams squared off earlier this season with the Presidents winning 3-2. Franciscan was able to win the first set and third set, but then Washington & Jefferson rallied to win the final two sets. Brynn Jacobson and Renee Antonelli had 15 kills ach in the loss.
