Mack Nets 21 As Barons Fall To Wolverines

How It Happened 
The Franciscan Men's Basketball team fell to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Grove City 92-63 despite a 21-point effort by Justin Mack

The Barons got off to a strong start with both Tristan McDannell and Justin Mack connecting on early 3-pointers to take a 6-3 lead. Noah Griffin would connect from behind the arc and Mack would hit his second of the half to take a four-point lead. The Wolverines went on a 9-0 run capture the lead. Mack would end the run with his third 3-pointer of the half. Nicholas Allienello blocked a layup and in transition hit a 3-pointer to allow the Barons to recapture an 18-17 lead. Grove City would answer back with a 15-2 run to take control of the game. Mack hit another 3-pointer to end the run but Grove City would close the half on a 9-0 run to take a 41-25 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, Grove City would grow their lead to as many 23 points midway through the second behind 17 points from Isaac Thrasher. The Barons managed to get the free throw line where as a team, the Barons were 24-28, shooting 85.7% from the line. The Wolvernies would cruise to a 92-63 victory. 

Inside the Numbers 
- Justin Mack led the Barons in scoring with 21 points, connecting five times from beyond the arc
- Tristan McDannell reached double figures netting 10 points
- Josh Zimmerman also scored 10 points and pulled in five rebounds
- Nicholas Allienello was the Barons top rebounder, pulling in seven boards
- Grove City was led in scoring by Isaac Thrasher who scored 17 points 
- The Wolverines won the battle on the glass, out rebounding the Barons 51-33 

Who's Next? 
The Barons will now return home to face Thiel on Monday, March 1 at 6:00 p.m. The Barons are 0-1 all-time against the Tomcats, but they have not faced each other since 2008.
