How It HappenedÂ
The Lady Barons lost 95-34 in their first home game since last Saturday. Angela Starre scored 10 points and pulled in 10 rebounds to record her third double double of the year.
It was a slow start to this one, as we would be knotted up at 4-4 three minutes into this one. Selena Coronis scored the first four points for the Lady Barons. The Wolverines would connect on a pair of free throws and a layup to take the lead back at 8-4. Angela Starre added her first bucket to pull within two, but the Wolverines would close at the quarter with a 5-0 run.Â
Sophie LaRose would snap the run, as she recorded her first point with a free throw. Isabel Atendido would add a layup shortly after, as she made a strong attack to the rim with 7:16 to play. The Wolverines would go on a tear, as they began to connect from three point land. A 19-3 run to end the quarter would give them a 53-12 edge heading into the break.
Angela Starre would get the second half scoring started as she made a tough layup. The Wolverines would continue to push it, as a 10-0 run would ensue. Ashley Benson would notch her first bucket later in the quarter. In the final minute, freshman center Paige Kendall made her first bucket in her Franciscan career by making a three pointer.Â
Franciscan would not quit, as they battled hard in the 4th quarter. Starre would connect on her sole three pointer of the day with just under seven minutes to play. Victoria Unnerstall would make her first basket as she made a strong move in the paint. LaRose would close the game out by making a pair of free throws.
