How It Happened
The Franciscan Lady Barons would battle the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in a PAC conference game on Friday night. The Lady Barons would battle hard, but in each set a large Geneva run would propel them to victory, as the Lady Barons would fall 3-0.

In set one, Geneva would jump out to an early lead of 3-0 with a pair of kills by Hunsinger. Mary Kate Taylor would snap the run with a kill of her own and follow it up with an ace. With Geneva leading 6-5, the Golden Tornadoes would go on a 5-0 run to take a commanding lead. Renee Antonelli would pick the Lady Barons up, as she registered her first kill. Antonelli followed it up with three straight service aces, and the score would stand at 11-9. The Lady Barons would tighten it up to be trailing by one at 14-13, but the Golden Tornadoes would go on an 11-2 to secure the first set.

A back and forth beginning of set two would set the score at 5-5. Annika Olsen and Renee Antonelli would register early kills in this set. The Lady Barons would go on their longest run of the day, as they would stretch the lead out to 9-5. Once again the Golden Tornadoes would respond, as they were able to knot it up at 10 all. The Lady Barons would continue to fight hard, and they would have a 16-14 lead. Geneva would answer with their largest run of the night, as an 11-0 run would give the Golden Tornadoes set number two.

Both teams would exchange points back and forth in the start of set three, as it would be tied at 7-7 in the early going. Caitlin O'Malley would register her first kill, and Emily Nutter would add an ace. With the score at Geneva leading 11-10, the Golden Tornadoes would pick up their play with a 6-0 run. The Lady Barons would only get within five of the lead down the stretch, as they could not put together a big run of their own to take down the Golden Tornadoes.
