How It Happened
The Franciscan Softball team fell in a nonconference matchup up with Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) to the undefeated Westminster Titans.
The Titans got off to a fast start Leah Pancake hit a two-run homerun in the first inning to put the Titans ahead. Franciscan would settle into the game behind starter
Lilly Wahl who would hold the Titans to just four hits in the next five innings while striking out four Westminster Batters.
The Barons struggled to get the bats going until the fifth inning.
Ariana Arnone led off the inning with a single to short stop.
Elizabeth Gibson would then reach on an error, allowing Arnone to advance to third. Annie Cerjak would lay down the perfect suicide squeeze bunt allowing Arnone to score from third base, making the score 2-1.
Westminster's offense came alive in the top of the seventh inning, plating eight runs to retake momentum and put the game out of reach.

How It Happened
The Lady Barons reset from their game one defeat, taking on the Titans in game two.
Westminster would once again start strong taking a 3-0 lead on a Leah Pancake three-run home run, helping the Titans jump out to the early lead.
The Barons found themselves trailing 6-0 entering the bottom of the third inning when their offense finally got going.
Chloe Cross led off the inning smacking a single into right field.
Rachel Cooper moved Cross into scoring position with a single of her own. Later in the inning with two outs. Cross would capitalize on a mental error by the Titans, swiping third and home to score the Barons first run of the game.
The Titans would respond, scoring four runs in the top of the fifth inning to secure the 11-1 victory.

Up Next
Franciscan will hit the road to play Waynebsurg in their final non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon. Franciscan is 4-10 all-time against Waynesburg, with wins in their last two meetings in 2019. In 2019 the Lady Barons swept a doubleheader with scores of 6-3 and 8-2.
