How It Happened
In the last home game of the regular season the Lady Barons would fall to the Titans of Westminster 90-60.
The Titans would come out shooting really well from deep, as they shot 6-9 from three in the first quarter. They would score the first eight points of the game. Selena Coronis and Angela Starre would snap the Westminster run. Coronis would add a pair of buckets down the stretch to send into the second trailing by eight.
Clare McGahan would get the Lady Barons on the board early in the second quarter, and then freshman Victoria Unnerstall would register her first points of the night. LaRose and Unnerstall would each connect from deep this quarter, but the Lady Barons zone defense could not get a timely stop. A late 6-0 run would send the Titans into the half up by 18, 48-30.
Sophie LaRose would come out strong to start the second half by scoring Franciscan's first five points. Isabel Atendido would also connect on a three pointer to cut the lead to 16 points with a little over five minutes to play in the quarter. The Titans would not go away, as they would pull ahead by 22 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Barons would continue to battle in the fourth. Clare McGahan would go on her own personal run, as she would score four consecutive Franciscan points. Ashley Benson and Isabel Atendido would add buckets in the final minute, but the Titans proved to be too much as they win 90-60.
