How It Happened
The Franciscan Softball team would score the first two runs of this one to take a 2-0 lead into the 6th inning. The Presidents' bats would come alive in the 6th, as they would plate five runs including a three run homer by Breanna Thomas.Â

The Lady Barons would get on the board early in this one.
Allyson Weiss would hit an infield single in the first at bat of the day.
Rachel Cooper, who got her first career start at third base, would sac bunt Weiss over to second.
Chloe Cross would then ground out, and Weiss would be able to advance to third. While pitcher
Andi Queen was batting, a wild pitch from Jordan Hinz would score
Allyson Weiss.
In the second inning,
Ariana Arnone would lead off with a single and advanced to second on an error by the Presidents right fielder.
Brooklynn Miller would get the job done by successfully getting the sacrifice bunt down that would advance Arnone to third.
Anne Cerjak would reach base on an error, but it would not score Arnone. Then with runners at the corners,
Lilly Wahl would send a fly ball deep enough to center to score Arnone on a sacrifice fly, that would give the Lady Barons a 2-0 lead.Â
In the bottom of the sixth the Presidents would lead off the inning with back to back singles to give them runners at first and second.
Andi Queen would get a flyout to right field from Kasey Sears for the first out of the inning. The first baseman Breanna Thomas would step to the plate, and she would send a liner to left-center that would clear the fence and give the Presidents a 3-2 edge. The Presidents would remain hot, as three straight singles would load the bases up with pinch-hitter Brooke Stout coming up to the plate. She would connect on a liner to right-center that would plate a pair to give the Presidents a 5-2 lead. Freshman
Lilly Wahl would be called upon in relief, and she would get the final two outs of the 6th, to send the Lady Barons into the their final frame trailing by three.
Lilly Wahl would hustle out an infield single in the 7th, but a double play and pop out would end this one at a score of 5-2

Emma Barnes would lead the way for the Lady Barons with two hits, as she went 2-3.

How It Happened
The Lady Barons reset from there game one defeat, taking on the Washington & Jefferson in the second game of the doubleheader.
The Barons offense struggled to find its rhythm, only recording a pair of hits only getting three runners on base in the game. Starting
Lilly Wahl kept the Presidents offense in check holding them to eight hits in 5.2 innings of action while striking out six.Â
Washington & Jefferson would capitalize on a two-run home run in the bottom of the second inning and added a couple of late insurance runs in route to the 6-0 victory.Â
