Steubenville, Ohio - The Franciscan University Men's Tennis concluded regular season play, picking up a key Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) over Westminster by a score of 7-2.Â
Doubles
The Franciscan doubles team swept all three doubles matchups, helping Franciscan jump out to an early lead. Franciscan's #1 doubles team of
Gary Pierre and
Billy Presume won by a score of 8-4. The team of
Luke Conrad and
Joe Mulligan won the #2 doubles match by a score of 8-3. Finally the in the #3 doubles matchup, the team of
Joseph Suess and
Aidan Howard won in dominate fashion, winning 8-1
Singles
The singles matchups were much more competitive, but
Gary Pierre rolled in his #1 single matchup winning 6-0, 6-0.
Luke Conrad earned the win in the #2 singles winning by a score of 6-2, 6-1. The Barons also captured the #3 singles match up with
Billy Presume winning a competitive match 7-5, 6-3. The Barons final singles match up victory came in the #5 singles match, where
Christian Cappello won 6-0, 6-0.
Who's Next?Â
This concludes the regular season for the men's tennis team. The PAC playoffs start on Tuesday April 27th with the top six teams making the playoffs. The Barons will be in the playoffs, but seeding will be finalized by the athletic directors of the PAC sometime this coming week.
