How It Happened
The Franciscan Women's Soccer team fell to the PAC leaders, Grove City, on Thursday evening, by a score of 2-0.

The Wolverines would be able to control the ball in their offensive end most of the first half. The Lady Barons were able to make a couple good runs at the goal, but they were only able to register one shot. Juliana Rubino would get a shot on goal that was saved. The Wolverines would have 18 first half shots, and Marita Ostrich would record eight saves. Grove City would score the lone goal of the half with less than ten minutes left in the period when Sullivan found the back of the net.

Franciscan would get a couple good looks in the second half, but not able to register a goal. Juliana Rubino would deliver a great strike that would be saved by Grove City, and Isabella Squire would take a shot that just missed wide right. Grove City was able to tack on the second goal of the game a little over ten minutes into the second half, and they were able to take the lead all the way to the end, as they won 2-0.

Inside the Numbers
- Juliana Rubino took a team high two shots.
- This would be the 8th shutout for the #1 Wolverines.
- Franciscan had two corner kicks.
- Marita Ostrich had 13 saves, 8th most in a game by a Lady Baron all-time.

Who's Next?
Franciscan will end PAC regular season play at Waynesburg on Saturday. This concludes a three game road stand for the Lady Barons. The Yellow Jackets are 6-4 all-time against the Lady Barons, but Franciscan won the last meeting in 2019. In that game Sarah Cocozza and Bella Rubino would score goals in the 2-1 win.
