How It Happened
The Franciscan Softball team dropped its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup with Geneva by a score of 8-0. This was the first game of the season that counted toward the Barons conference record.

Chloe Cross would work a walk to lead off the game and advance to third thanks to a sacrifice bunt by Rachel Cooper, but the Barons could not score her. Geneva quickly got on the scoreboard, plating four runs in the bottom of the inning, forcing the Barons starter Andi Queen from the game. Lilly Wahl came on in relief, and slowed the Golden Tornadoes holding them to just four more runs over the next five innings.

The Barons best chance to score came in the fifth inning, when Brooklynn Miller led off the inning with single into left field. Elizabeth Gibson would then launch a double down the left field line to move runners into scoring position. The Barons could not score either runner and Geneva added a final run in the bottom of the inning to secure the 8-0 victory.
