How It Happened 
The Lady Barons came out firing on all cylinders, as they won a commanding set number one, but the Yellow Jackets would fight back to win the match with three straight set wins.

In set one, Emily Nutter served the Lady Barons to a 7-0 lead with two aces in the run. Brynn Jacobson and Caitlin O'Malley also connected on a pair of kills that helped Franciscan get off to the hot start. Franciscan would the first to fifteen, as they would hold a 15-7 lead, as Maria Bosco recorded her first ace of the night. The Yellow Jackets would go on a run of their own, as they would tighten the score to 19-15. Franciscan would find its rhythm again on Bosco's serve as a 6-1 rally would give Franciscan the 1-0 edge. 

The Yellow Jackets responded early in set two, as they would jump out to a 14-5 edge. The lead would get stretched to a high of 14 points as Franciscan trailed 21-7. The Lady Barons would not quit, as a 4-0 run would tighten it up at 21-11. Jacobson and O'Malley would each add a kill late, but the Yellow Jacket would take the set, 25-14.

Baldwin Wallace opened up set three on a 7-0 run. The Lady Barons would snap it with a kill by Renee Antonelli. The Yellow Jackets would stay on the offensive attack, as they stretched the lead to 14-5. Sara Moore helped end the Baldwin Wallace attack, as she recorded her first ace of her career. Franciscan would pull to within seven on the ace by Lucy Pridemore, but they wouldn't pull any closer as the Yellow Jackets take the set 25-15. 

Franciscan would take their first lead since set number one, as they jumped out to an early 4-1 advantage. Lucy Prideomore and Renee Antonelli each converted a kill in the early rally. Baldwin Wallace would battle back to regain the lead at 5-4. Nutter would deliver a perfect drop set to equalize the match at five and give Franciscan the momentum. Many contested rallies transpired, as points would would go back and forth until the score set at 16-16. The Yellow Jackets seized the opportunity with a 6-1 rally to take a 22-17 edge. The Lady Barons would not quit as a 5-1 run of their own would pull them to within one at 23-22. Isa Luciano of Baldwin Wallace stepped up with a kill and an ace to shut the door, as the Yellow Jackets won 25-22.

Inside the Numbers 
- Emily Nutter and Caitlin O'Malley led the way with seven kills apiece.
- Emily Nutter led the team with 14 assists. 
- Freshman libero Sarah Moore led the way with nine digs in her first collegiate match.
- Lucy Pridemore recorded three blocks to lead the Lady Barons.
- Cecelia Hamisch led all players with 11 kills.

Who's Next? 
The Lady Barons will head off to Marietta, Ohio on Friday, as they take part in the River City Classic. In their first game of the tournament, they will face Capital University on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. Franciscan holds a 1-5 record all-time against Capital, with the lone win coming in 2018. The Lady Barons won a 3-2 thriller that night in Steubenville. Maria Bosco had 14 kills while Emily Nutter led the team with 34 assists.
